Most Played Games: July 2015

In today’s update we’ll check how the ranking of the most played games on Razer software in July.

This month gamers have spent less time playing the top 10 titles across the board. All the same, the two most played games were where gamers invested over 50% of their time.

Razer gamers spent more than 50% of their time on Counter Strike: Global Offensive and League of Legends in July

Counter Strike: Global Offensive continues to top the chart as the most played game on Razer software at a global level and in Europe. It seems the gap between CSGO and second placer League of Legends is shrinking. Could the classic shooter’s reign at the top be close to its end?

Minecraft pops up two positions to 3rd place pushing down Hearthstone which landed behind DOTA 2 in fifth.

Paid games accounted for almost 55% of the time played in the top 10

After a two month absence, Heroes of the Storm makes a comeback to the global top 10, keeping up the growing trend we saw in Europe last month. With this return, Battlefield 4 gave way to Blizzard’s MOBA in 10th position.

Team Fortress 2 rose to the sixth position even though play time dropped by around 1% while World of Warcraft stepped a peg up on the ladder.

Another Blizzard hit, Diablo 3 takes a hit, falling down to ninth from sixth as gamers spent less than half their time playing this dungeon crawler when compared to June.

Moba games were the most played of the top 10 with 42%, first person shooters in second at 34% and RPGs third at 16%

Most Played Games: June 2015

Let’s take a look at June’s top played PC games on Razer Cortex.

In June League of Legend’s global winning streak is broken as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive becomes the game Razer Cortex users have spent the most time playing. The difference in time spent playing is small but it is interesting to see the ‘king of games’ dethroned by a long living classic.

Another noticeable change in the chart was the position swap between World of Warcraft and Battlefield 4 who take the two lower spots respectively.

At a regional level it’s interesting to see that each different part of the globe has its own favorite game. The Americas hold on to LoL, Asia favors its direct competitor DOTA 2 and Europe prefers the FPS genre with CS:GO.

Heroes of the Storm seems to be recovering some steam in Europe since its brief appearance in the top played PC games back in April. Could it be now that we’ll see Blizzard’s MOBA take over?

In May, Razer Cortex users have put more of their game time into the top 10 most played games with an overall increase in time spent playing across the board.

League of Legends maintains a strong leading position as the most played game of May. The direct competitor, DOTA 2, on the other hand, drops down to 4th, losing its gains from the previous month.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive holds onto second place. With the new Operation Bloodhound content update reaching gamers at the end of May CS:GO grew more than 11% in global game time.

Last month’s new-comer, Heroes of The Storm, drops out this time around and Battlefield 4 jumps in at 9th place to fill the gap.
