Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi and Ubinota might seem like unlikely leaders in October’s Most Wished For Games on Razer Cortex: Deals, but you might have noticed the trend- they were part of two huge giveaways that were extremely well received by our fans. We teamed up with Bundle Stars and IndieGala to give out more than 200,000 Steam keys to our Razer users. The keys were all snapped up in under 60 hours, catapulting these 2 games up to the top of the ranking. For the lucky users who acted fast, we hope you are enjoying the keys. For the others, remember to hit us up on Facebook and Twitter for updates on our next giveaway.
“Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi and Ubinota leap to the top two spots in the leader boards for October after a huge fan turnout for in our latest Steam key giveaways.”
Fallout 4 held on to the 3rd spot in anticipation of its launch, we reckon that it would have taken the first spot were it not for the widely popular Steam key giveaways. While November looks to have a pretty robust list of new games, we think it’s safe to say that Fallout 4 will still claim the lion’s share of the limelight.
“Fallout 4 remains the most anticipated game for the Quarter.”
Minecraft: Story Mode makes its debut at the 5th spot following its highly raved about release, while Mad Max drops out of the Top 10 after a single month. Grand Theft Auto V, Rocket League, Counter-Strike Global Offensive and Ark: Survival Evolved remain in the Top 10.
Which games are you most looking forward to? Don’t forget to wishlist your picks, check out the comprehensive list on Razer Cortex: Deals.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive takes first place across the board except for the Americas in October’s update for Most Played Games on Razer software. Usual suspects, League of Legends and Dota 2, retain their place in Top 10, but Dota 2 has seen an overall drop in play time. This is especially obvious in Asia, where Dota 2 has consistently placed at the top for the last 4 months. This is likely due to the fact that the much hyped about League of Legends Worlds was held this month, with over 1,000,000 viewers on Twitch alone. Battlefield 4 also sees an overall increase in position, making an appearance on the American leaderboards for the first time.
“League of Legends sees an increase in interest compared to fellow MOBA Dota 2, likely due to the highly publicized League of Legends Worlds.”
MOBA and First Person Shooters dominate the charts this month, with more than half of the titles on the board. The rise in popularity for eSports probably play a part in this, being spectator friendly and easy to get into with friends. With games like Battlefront and Overwatch coming up in the near future, fans of these genres will be spoilt for choice. We reckon that these two games will make an appearance in the coming months as Star Wars Battlefront launches in November and Overwatch expands its closed beta to more and more gamers across the world.
“Rise of eSports contribute to popularity of spectator-friendly games.”

Moba, first person shooters and RPGs continue to be the top three most popular genres- placing team play and player interaction as huge factors in game preference for users. Multiplayer online battle arena games and first person shooters in particular are also competitive, with a low barrier for entry play being F2P; making it ideal for a friendly match between groups of friends. These two genres are undoubtedly the most ideal genres to ease first time gamers into gaming, contributing to their popularity.
MOBA, First Person Shooters and Role-Playing Games remain the top three most popular genres for Razer users.
